This is a comprehensive personal care instruction course designed to cover the following:
- Ambulation
- Body Mechanics
- Client Safety
- Environmental Safety
- Homemaking
- Nutrition
- Universal Precautions
This course will qualify an individual with the necessary skills to be able to provide direct care to consumers in Assisted Living Facilities, Residential Care Facilities, Adult Day Care Programs, and Home Care settings. Students completing this course and interested in taking a Certified Nurse Aide Course (C.N.A) within two years, may receive credit for Modules 1–6 of the C.N.A. training course.
Requirements
As of September 1, 2003, this course takes the place of the RCS–1 course. It is required by anyone employed in Assisted Living or Home Health Care, working for more than 20 hours a week. It must be taken within 120 days of employment starting date. Anyone who already has their RCS–1 certification before September 1, 2003 does not have to repeat this course.
Students must be 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED to qualify to take the PSS Training Course. All class hours must be met in order for the student to receive a certificate from DHHS/BEAS.

Book $30 (or use a loaner for free!)
*$50 of the tuition is nonrefundable. Refunds will be granted where good cause is determined, but at the sole discretion of the course instructor. No refunds will be granted once you have attended the first day of class.
Please keep in mind that we CANNOT reserve a seat unless payment has been received. Payment must be made in -full prior to the beginning of the course. No exceptions.
